Helping young creatives connect and belong

Brand & Strategy
Design

Client: National Youth Arts Wales

Brief: Create a digital platform that brings together opportunities, resources and support for young creatives across Wales, in a way that feels accessible, welcoming and confident, not institutional or intimidating.

Audience: Young people at different stages of their creative journey, from those just starting out to those already performing, training or collaborating.

Outcome: A clear, intuitive app experience that makes it easier to discover opportunities, stay engaged and feel part of a creative community, providing NYAW with a flexible digital foundation that can evolve over time.

ADDITION ADDS MORE…

Audience clarity: Defined the core youth audiences SBARC needed to serve, recognising different levels of confidence, experience and engagement and designed an experience that felt welcoming at every stage.

Journey mapping: Mapped key user journeys to understand how young people would discover opportunities, return to the platform, and build a sense of progression over time.

UX structure and flows: Designed a clear, intuitive app structure that reduced friction, prioritised ease of use and made information simple to find and act on.

Product and brand system: What began as UX design evolved into a confident brand system, creating a clear visual and interaction language that could flex across the app, communications and future touchpoints.

SBARC has enabled National Youth Arts Wales to extend its reach, strengthen partnerships and secure funding to support the long-term growth of the programme
